art inspiration: {Wilhelm Staehle}

(found here)
Ladies and gents, let me take a minute to introduce to you, Mister Wilhelm Staehle. His quirky sense of humor lend a whimsical feel to each of his hand cut silhouettes. I love the colors, type, and witty statements on each one. Made me smile today + I hope they do the same for you.

life in the fur lane.

(found here.)

my all time favorite fashionista + stylist: Beth Jones. Rocking a vintage vest.

My niece will rock this in the fall. Baby Zara.

Wild + Free.

The real deal. Jean Paul Gaultier + Givenchy.

I love faux fur + I'm not afraid to say it. This trend seems to glam up any outfit while still retaining a cozy, feminine feel. I know it borders on the men-repellant line...but I don't care because I find it quite fabulous. Everything just seems a little bit more fun with fur. What do you guys think?

Vogue Turkey: Who knew?

(Images via here)

Ooh la la. How romantic are these images from Vogue Turkey? Never thought that there was such a thing as Turkish Vogue, but I'm not complaining about it one bit. Further cementing my love for nuetrals, this spread just does it for me. Hope it does for you too. All 9 of my followers. I think when I reach 10 I will have to celebrate! :)

Oh how I love a guy with style! Can't wait to check out this little documentary! Video found here.

Handbag Love: Navoh

Today I came across these little beauties, while shopping for an affordable yet stylish handbag. All the handbags are priced around $100 and honestly, I would rock every single one of them! I'm particularly loving the top one! Just might have to own one of these very soon. Oh online shopping! Kills me + thrills me.

Oh Madewell. How Well Made You Really Are

This weekend I am making my way up to LA to celebrate a wonderful woman! But during the day I just might have to make a pit stop at this lovely little store. Madewell is amazing + their clothes are to die for. I've been admiring they're clothes for a long time now, but from a distance, as they only have a store in LA and not San Diego. Can't wait to check it out in person, instead of online!

Word For Today

Thanks to my new best friend Pintrest, I am continually stumbling across images that make me smile. Today, this one called out to me and brought me a little bit of hope.
At this stage in my life, everything can seem like a waiting game. Waiting for the next promotion. Waiting for the next adventure. Waiting for the next true love. Waiting for my dream job.
Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.
And all the while, life is just zooming by and I am left in the in between. Well...I'll be honest with you, I am sick of waiting. I'm ready to embrace the fact that God has called me to this exact spot in life: working at the church, learning about things I love doing, spending time with my best friend, preparing for Aunt-hood, growing in my knowledge of the Bible, learning how to love others, and lastly: coming into my own as a woman. I am a woman now, you know.
It's such a freeing realization to verbalize that I love my life. I am blessed beyond belief with family, friends, jobs, yad yada the list goes on. Although I don't necessarily have the deepest desires of my heart satisfied...it doesn't mean they will never happen. Someday I will be a mom. Someday I will be working in a more creative role. Someday I will love the heck out of that husband God gives me. Someday. So for this day, I choose contentment + joy. That deep joy that God promises to those who trust in him. I'm claiming it! I refuse to settle into the waiting period for one more minute. Life is just too short. And I was created to love this life.
just some thoughts.

Meet Luis Dourado. I love his nuetral palette with pops of color. Sigh. Makes me want to be at Coachella with all of my closest friends.

MOBIAS

first 2 minutes + ready to go.
team MOBIAS.

tons of people showed up.

our little monster.
tobias + beau.
almost done!
Here are a few pics of our team MOBIAS competing in the Art of War event a few months ago. Such a fun event...They don't tell you until a week before what your "canvas" is and only 24 hrs before to tell you the dimmensions. Then the night of the event, we had 2 hours to make a pallette cube into anything we wanted. So crazy + stressful...but our little guy turned out quite cool.

happy new year.

So, Happy New Year everyone! I know I'm a few days late, but I am finally ready to say it.I am looking forward to what this new year is going to bring. Mr. 2011- what are you all about? Here are a few of my goals:
1. Eat as clean as possible + make new recipes out of organic+ locally grown food
2. Create more. More art. Two projects a month would be good.
3. Memorize more scripture so that I can be ready!
4. Career move.
Most of all, I want to keep finding out who God has made me to be, by growing + learning as much as possible. Although 2010 was one of those tough years...it was a growing one + what more could I ask for? I've come out of it a better woman, ready to face 2011. Let's make it a good one!
